People are often surprised that editing takes longer than shooting. Here is what actually happens in that gap, and what you get at the end of it.

The timeline

Within 48 hours — a small preview set, usually five to ten frames. Enough to share, not enough to spoil the gallery.
Two to three weeks — profile sessions, product shoots, and most event coverage.
Four to six weeks — full-day or multi-location shoots, which typically run to several hundred delivered images.

If you need something faster for a specific reason — a thank-you card, a press deadline, an anniversary — say so when you book. We can almost always prioritise a subset.

What happens in between

Culling

The first pass removes the technical failures: blinks, missed focus, the frame where someone walked through. The second pass is the harder one, choosing between six nearly identical good frames. We are looking for the one where the expression peaks, which is rarely the one that is sharpest.

A full event day might start at 4,000 frames and deliver 600.

Colour

Every image gets colour-corrected individually. Skin tone is the anchor — if that is right, most other things fall into place. This is the slowest stage and the one that most determines whether a gallery feels consistent.

Retouching

Delivered images get global work: exposure, contrast, colour. Blemish removal and more detailed retouching are done on request for the frames you actually plan to print, rather than speculatively across the whole set.

What you receive

You get a private online gallery, password-protected, that stays live for twelve months. From it you can download:

Full-resolution JPEGs — for printing, at any size you like.
Web-sized JPEGs — smaller files, correctly sized for social and email.

Download the full gallery to your own storage when you get it. A cloud link is not a backup, and neither is our archive.

Print rights are included. You are free to print anywhere, at any size, as many times as you want. We do not mark up prints or restrict where you order them.

What we keep

We archive the delivered gallery for two years across two locations. Raw files are kept for twelve months and then cleared. If you lose your files inside that window, email us and we will re-issue the link at no cost.
